The Highton Clinic will be closed between the Christmas and New Year period for 2025.
The clinic will close at 1pm Wednesday 24th December and will re-open at 8:30am Friday 2nd January 2026.
Please make sure you check your supply of regular medications early to allow enough time to request and collect any prescriptions you may require to avoid running out over this period.
Below are options available to our patients requiring urgent medical attention during this time.
If you are unable to contact any of the below options and require URGENT medical attention, please call an ambulance on 000 or attend your nearest emergency department.
Our practice will re-open for routine appointments from 8:30am Thursday 2nd January.
The National Home Visiting Doctor can prescribe medication necessary to manage your urgent medical issue, but is unable to provide routine prescriptions or chronic medications.
They will provide the following coverage during this time:
Wednesday 24th December: coverage from 6pm
Thursday 25th December: Christmas Day: coverage all day
Friday 26th December: Boxing Day: coverage all day
Saturday 27th December: coverage from 12noon
Sunday 28th December: coverage all day
Monday 29th December: coverage from 6pm
Tuesday 30th December: coverage from 6pm
Wednesday 31st December: coverage from 6pm
Thursday 1st January: New Year’s Day: coverage all day
Geelong Priority Primary Care Centre is located at 75 Roslyn Road Belmont, within Eastbrooke Medical Centre (entrance via Corio Street)
Their hours of operation are 7:30am to 9:30pm, 7 days a week, these hours may be subject to change. **Priority primary care will be opened reduced hours on Christmas Day and New Years Eve**
They can provide urgent care for injuries and illness, including:
*Priority Primary Care does not prescribe Schedule 8 medications (or benzodiazepines).
They can prescribe medication necessary to manage your urgent medical issue, but is unable to provide routine prescriptions or chronic medications.
The Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED), a public health service for non-life-threatening emergencies that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
You will be connected to a team of emergency nurses and doctors, who are trained to assist you.
Interpreter services are available for patients who prefer to speak in their own language.
